West Bengal Elections Phase 5: TMC, CPIM Workers Clash In Hooghly | NWI

One CPI(M) supporter got injured as members from Trinamool Congress clashed with the party workers in Arambag area of West Bengal’s Hooghly district.

According to reports, TMC supporters allegedly threatened people to not vote, following which the supporters from the two parties collided.

1.2 crore voters will exercise their franchise across 53 constituencies in the fifth phase of West Bengal Assembly elections.

The Election Commission has deployed a strong contingent of 90,000 central and state police forces and imposed prohibitory orders under 144 CrPc in the three poll-bound districts to curb violence.
