It started with a remark on issue of crimes against women in India, and ended amid huge applause, when journalist Barkha Dutt silenced a foreign reporter.

Taking strong objection to the remarks from her counterpart, Norah O’Donnell of CBS, Dutt voiced her objection to the “generalisation” of women in India. She pointed that the crime rate against the fairer sex was higher in America than in India.

The journalist expressed her “fierce disagreement” with the “narrative which is being built around my country”.
