Indian skipper Virat Kohli has got a new fan in Pakistan’s women cricket team. Bismah Maroof, one of the key players of the India’s arch-rival follows Kohli’s playing style to improve her batting technique.

In an interview to a leading Pakistani daily, the 24-year-old cricket star admitted that her batting style is inspired by right-handed players despite being a left-handed batswoman.

As a left-handed batswoman, Maroof is also encouraged by Suresh Raina and Michael Clarke.

“I am a huge fan of Michael Clarke and watching and learning from players like Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli helps me improve my shot selection and construct my innings,” she said.

Maroof played a crucial role in clinching the series against Bangladesh few months back, taking the Pakistani women cricket team to a new high.

She thinks that Pakistan Cricket Board should a lot more for women players.

“We think that that there should be a separate national academy for female cricketers and more grounds should be built around the country, particularly for women,” she told the Dawn.
