Veteran actor J V Ramana Murthi passed away on Wednesday at the age of 83.
Murthi was hospitalised for an ailment at a city hospital.
Murthi is known to be staged Gurajada’s “Kanyashulakam” more than 1,000 times earning encomiums for the play that he directed.
Brother of noted actor J V Somayajulu, Murthi had acted in the Telugu classic “Shankarabharanam”.
Murthi was born in Srikakulam on May 20, 1933 and was introduced to the silver screen through the film “MLA” directed by K B Tilak in 1957.
