Flipkart claims itself as the best in the market when it comes to user and service assistance but like many loopholes, here is another blunder from the e-commerce giant which is now going viral on the internet after being exposed in their own trap of prices and “heavy” discounts.
The company, according to the picture, is giving around 50 per cent discount on a pair of footwear which is originally priced at Rs 699 without discount.
But, the printed price on the strap of the footwear shows MRP as Rs 399. Interesting? Isn’t it?
Now, the flipkart is giving the discount of 50 per cent on the product and selling it in the same price which, according to the printed amount on the strap, is actually the ‘MRP’. That shows that prices of various listed products were might be raised intentionally to flaunt a fake discount.

An angry customer of the e-retailer, Mani Shankar Sen, took to the social media to narrate the story of Flipkart’s fake discount.
Sen shared the screenshot of the page of Flipkart’s listing which actually exposed the reality of the e-retailer.
The same product is not available on the site anymore but the image is doing the damage work by going viral on the internet.
Flipkart’s reply
Reacting on the incident, the e-commerce site said that the company is checking on and will rectify it.
Flipkart has deleted the item listing from its website.
Replying to Focus News Digital on Twitter, the Flipkart said that they have taken appropriate action by removing the product from their website.
@FocusNewsIndia The product has already been removed from our website. Appropriate action taken.

Flipkart is a marketplace which helps sellers connect with customers across the country, the company told Focus News Digital in a reply.
In an e-mail reply, the company’s spokesperson said, “We have investigated the incident and after receiving the full report we have suspended the sellers. Flipkart adopts a zero tolerance policy towards any instances where the seller has sold a product above the MRP stated on the label.”
“When found in violation of our policy, sellers are suspended and further blacklisted.
“Flipkart takes utmost care in ensuring that product information on the marketplace is not misleading and for this, we rely on our sellers to share correct information with us,” the spokesperson added.
Snapdeal’s Marketing Idea!
It was a case between a customer and Flipkart but Snapdeal’s interference made it more interesting. On a post of The Logical Indian on Facebook, the Snapdeal, another e-retailing giant of India, replied to a comment of a Facebook user who was narrating his story.
Snapdeal does the ‘bin bulaya mehmaan’ act in this issue which was actually between Flipkart and a customer who visited the website
This comment was not associated with the Snapdeal but the e-retailer promptly replied to it. It seems like the marketing strategy of the Snapdeal follows a different platform.
