Unable To Repay Loan, Distressed Farmer, Mother Commit Suicide In Barnala | NWI

Unable to repay a loan, distressed farmer and mother in Barnala district of Punjab allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday.

According to reports, the deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Baljit Singh Ballu and 62-year-old Balbir Kaur who have taken a loan from the commission agent by mortgaging two-acre land.

They ended their lives by consuming pesticides when a commission agent along with revenue officials reached their residence to take possession of his land.

The duo was immediately taken to the civil hospital where Balbir Kaur was declared brought dead.

However, Ballu was referred to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, but he died on the way.
