Around 11 years ago, in 2004 Mark Zuckerberg appeared on CNBC’s ‘Bullseye’ and discussed about ‘The Facebook’. Yes, that’s right! Back then ‘Facebook’ was called ‘The Facebook’. The interview documented and raised the question about, would ‘thefacebook.com’ be the next big thing?

And the host started with stating the Facebook as a place for cyber matchmaking college networking website and asked is this the next big thing? Well, now we know!

Young Zuckerberg modestly stated and discussed about his social networking website, ‘When we first launched we were hoping for maybe 400 or 500 people … so who knows where we’re going next?”

CNBC’s Becky Quick asked the million dollar question, ‘What is TheFacebook exactly?’ And after explaining the nature of the new online directory, Facebook’s founder explained the simple details of connecting via TheFacebook, “You sign on, you make a profile about yourself by answering some questions and entering some information [about yourself].”

The host says TheFacebook is just the latest in a trend of “college network websites” helping people look for love or jobs.

According to Forbes, Zuckerberg, now 30, is now the 16th richest person in the world, but was just 19 at the time and would soon drop out of Harvard.
