Seven killed and 80 injured after a pandal disintegrated and collapsed due to strong winds followed by heavy rainfall at Simhastha Kumbh in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

The pandal collapse triggered a massive chaos and stampede in the mela ground. The injured have been rushed to the hospital.

Simbhasta Kumbh is regarded as the world’s biggest religious congregation, which means a large gathering of people at any given point in time during the mela.

Ujjain Simhastha is a Hindu-religious fair held every twelve years in the Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. The Simhastha Kumbh is being held from April 22 to May 21.
