Samsung Galaxy S7 Launch Expected On February 21 At Unpacked Event | News World India

A day ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), Samsung has announced its ‘Unpacked’ event to showcase the latest Galaxy S7 on February 21.

Samsung’s ‘The Next Galaxy’ event is scheduled on Feb 21 at 19 CET, ie., 11:30 PM IST. Samsung has put a teaser video which shows a cube with lighted edges to form No. 7 clearly revealing the seventh S-series galaxy in line to launch.

Preliminary leaks and rumours indicated Samsung to be working on at least four Galaxy S7 models namely the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge, and Galaxy S7 Edge+. But it is expected the company will launch only two variants.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is likely to retain the design of Galaxy S6 and S6 edge but will come with microSD card slot and USB Type-C port. This time however Samsung will bring Apple’s force touch display in the name of pressure-sensitive screen. Samsung might also launch the edge variant in different screen sizes.

Samsung might also cosy up with Qualcomm this year by offering S7 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC instead of its own Exynos chipset.

Samsung Galaxy S7 looks to retain a 5.1-inch screen with SuperAMOLED panel. In terms of durability it will be both water and dust proof (India friendly) and its ‘eyes’ will feature a 12-megapixel camera with F1.7 lens.

Galaxy S7 will be Samsung’s knight in shining armour as it competes with low-price companies like Lenovo and Xiaomi yet maintain its top offering and breakthrough technology for users.

All shall be revealed on February 21.
