The Maharashtra Government lawyer on Thursday opposed the transfer of the television actress Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case to Mumbai Police Crime branch, citing previous HC orders, reports ANI.
The parents of Pratyusha on Wednesday filed a petition in the Bombay High Court to transfer their daughter’s alleged suicide case to Crime Branch.
Further, Shoma Banerjee’s (Pratyusha’s mother) lawyer K T Thomas said, ‘fair investigation was not done by police in the case’. Further added, ‘even after being given credible info, Rahul Raj was not arrested.’
K T Thomas said that Rahul Raj withdrew money from Pratyusha’s account, as he was having her debit cards, and withdrew Rs 25 lakhs from the account in past few months.
Bombay HC refuses to transfer the case to Crime branch and has asked police to report progress of probe to HC, next hearing on May 4.
