PM Assigns Tutors For His MPs To Learn Social Media | NWI

With his government set to complete two years in office this month end, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asked his ministerial colleagues to take its achievements to people through social media and was critical of some ministers who do not aggressively use digital platforms.

Chairing a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister told them to make at least one lakh followers each on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter and noted with concern that several ministers are not active in this regard.

On Tuesday, a group of elderly lawmakers were seen taking lessons on Twitter and Facebook by the younger lot in Parliament’s central hall.

Along with arranging formal lessons for MPs, PM has made three incharge for organising the tutorials – power minister Piyush Goyal, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State Jitendra Singh.

The PM said, “3.2 crore people have got loans under Mudra bank scheme; 3.18 lakh homes will soon get free LPG; rural electrification is reaching lakhs of homes. Have you all gone to the public about these achievements?”

Though few of them gave positive response, PM left them with a message saying ‘Get active’.

He further said, “I’m not on Twitter or Facebook. How do I start.”
