News World India Impact: MEA Assures Help To Mother’s Plea In Bringing Back Body Of Son Yusuf | News World India

More than thirty years ago, Anupam Kher played a father who is struggling to get back his son’s last remains. This sad and painful reel story has become a reality for a family in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli.

Mohammed Yusuf’s mother is waiting for her son’s body- to see him one last time. Yusuf used to work as a driver in Saudi Arabia. On December 10, the family received a call saying Yusuf has died. They were told that his body will be sent back in a few days. However, there has been no word since then.

Now, Yusuf’s parents and family are knocking on every possible door to get his body back. She even met Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi during his recent visit and pleaded to get her son’s body returned to her.

On Saturday, News World India joined the family’s fight to trace and bring back the body of Mohd Yusuf. Minister of state for external affairs VK Singh told NWI that all efforts will be made to locate and bring back Yusuf’s body. Viewers from Saudi Arabia have called in offer their help. Senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik, UP minister Manoj Pandey and JD(U) leader Ali Anwar have all assured help in the matter.

On Saturday, MEA took heed to News World India’s impact and assured assistance to Yusuf’s family. Speaking exclusively to News World India, MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said that Yusuf’s sponsor had been contacted and that Indian diplomats will make a visit to Riyadh police station to glean more information. On funding issues, Vikas Swarup said the parents can make use of Indian community welfare fund to retrieve his body and make arrangements to visit Saudi Arabia.
