Mumbai Teen, Driver Die As Car Falls In Elevator Shaft | News World India

Two persons including a 14-year-old boy and a driver were killed when a car fell off an elevator shaft in Mumbai on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place on the second floor of 22-storeyed Iqbal Heights building in Mumbai’s Agripada area when a 14-year-old boy, Hafiz Patel, who was learning to drive with driver Javed Ahmed, accelerated the vehicle and rammed it into the car lift door, forcing it open.

The vehicle then fell around 35 ft from the second floor to the basement.

Soon after Patel’s parents approached police, fire fighters were called in and bodies were recovered from the basement later in the evening and sent for post-mortem.

The police have registered a case of accidental death in connection with the accident.
