MPPKVVCL Terminates Essel Group's Contract In Sagar | News World India

The Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited (MPPKVVCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the state government mandated with distribution and retail supply of electricity, on Tuesday midnight cancelled Essel Group’s contract for distribution of power in Sagar area.

From now on, the distribution of power will be done by the state-run companies.

In December 2012, Essel Vidyut Vitaran (Sagar) Private Limited (EVVSPL) allocated the contract of power distribution, maintenance, bill collection etc.

Chief engineer Prakash Kawade told that from Tuesday midnight the state-run power companies have taken over. However, he also stated that Essel employees will be present for few days to hand over the charges.

Around 250 employees are in fear of losing their jobs following the step.
