Mobile E-Shopping Traffic Surges Over 75 Per Cent This Diwali, Finds UC Browser | News World India

Setting a new trend, India’s e-commerce market surged around 75 per cent this year during Diwali sale, a research conducted by UC Browser, one of the leading mobile software makers said in a report.

“The numbers of users who visit Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal via UC Browser in the month leading up to Diwali 2015 increased over 75% compared with last year,” said Kenny Ye, managing director of UCWeb India.

“Indians are increasingly embracing shopping on the go, splashing out on various items through mobile shopping during festive sales. There is no doubt that m-commerce is prospering.

The traffic upsurge echoes the public perception of Diwali in the age of e-commerce.

According to the findings, UC browser noticed over 17 million users participating in their #HarGharUCDiwali contest which was rolled out during the Diwali.

Over 50% of India’s internet population are mobile-only users, online marketplaces are already witnessing a continuing influx of transactions made on mobile devices, a research released by IAMAI revealed.
