Man Stabbed To Death Over Last Piece Of Chicken | News World India

A fight between roommates over food elevated up to the death of one. According to the report in the Houston Chronicle, Reinaldo Rivera is accused of stabbing 34-year-old Darwin Gonzalez to death due to the fight over the last piece of chicken for dinner.

Reports also say that the 38-year-old along with the three other men were preparing dinner and were enjoying over the drinks in a Houston apartment on October 30 when the victim took the last fried chicken drumstick and ate it. Now, the duo began a verbal argument before moving to the car park outside the building. At the parking, allegedly victim fatally stabbed with a steak knife.

Telegraph quoted Houston Police Department Homicide Detective Fil Waters saying, ‘There was a single drumstick in the pan.’ He further added, ‘You can’t script this stuff. It’s someone getting killed over a piece of chicken. Pretty tragic.’

When Rivera later returned, he was reportedly taken into custody and charged with murder after allegedly admitting to police that he stabbed Gonzalez. According to reports in USA Today, currently he is being held in jail on a $200,000 bond (£130,000) and is due to appear in court on December 16.
