Supreme Court on Wednesday quashed all order by Arunachal Governor and reinstated Chief Minister Nabam Tuki Govt.

The apex court said that all decisions taken by Arunachal Assembly after 9 December are unsustainable.

Confirming the reports, Advocate Vivek Tankha said “SC quashed all notifications of 9th December issued by Arunachal Governor, restored status quo ante as on 15th Dec.”

The crisis in the Nabam Tuki-led Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh began after 21 legislators rebelled against the chief minister. Originally, the Congress had 47 members in the 60-member assembly. It was now left with 26 legislators.

The Congress party had challenged the Centre’s imposition of President’s Rule in the state and subsequent formation of a new government. Here is all you need to know about the Arunachal Pradesh crisis:

9 December 2015: The governor had advanced the state assembly session by a month to 16 December from the scheduled date of 14 January and had listed the removal of the speaker for the day.

26 January 2015: Arunachal Pradesh was placed under President’s Rule

19 February 2016: The leader of the Congress dissidents’ faction, Kalikho Pul, was sworn in as chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh with the support of 20 rebel legislators of the Congress and 11 of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

22 February 2016: The constitution bench comprising Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, Justice Dipak Misra, Justice Madan B Lokur, Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghosh and Justice NV Ramana had said that if they come to conclusion that Rajkhowa had exceeded his jurisdiction in exercise of his discretionary powers then it would put the clock back to the situation prior to December 16
