‘Reportedly as soon as Kanhaiya reached at the stage, a few men hurled shoes, slippers and shouted slogans against Kanhaiya, prompting him to say, “What sort of patriotism is displayed by throwing slippers?”

Earlier today, workers supposedly belonging to Bajrang Dal attacked sedition-charged student leader Kanhaiya Kumar’s car as he arrived in Nagpur.

Kanhaiya’s car was attacked by workers, after which cops have detained five people.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students’ union leader is in Nagpur to address a meeting to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar, a Dalit icon whom Kumar considers his role-model.

Progressive Students’ Youth Action Committee has organised the meeting and several right-wing organisations have threatened to foil Kanhaiya’s meeting in Nagpur.
