JNU Row: Kanhaiya Fined Rs 10,000; Umar Khalid Suspended For One Semester | News World India

kanhaiya-kumar-2230392The Jawaharlal Nehru University on Monday imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on JNU Student’s Union President Kanhaiya Kumar and suspended Umar Khalid for one semester in connection with a controversial event on parliamentary attack convict Afzal Guru in the varsity campus on February 9.

The university administrators also imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 on Umar Khalid and suspended for Mujeeb Gatto for two semesters.

The JNU administration has also imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 on Sourabh Sharma.

The varsity has prohibited the entry of Ashutosh into the JNU hostel for one year, while imposing a fine of Rs 20,000 on him.

Also, Anirban Bhattacharya has been suspended till July 15.
