ISIS Suicide Bombers Kill 45 In Damascus | News World India

Aombings claimed by the Islamic State jihadist group have killed 71 people and wounded dozens more near a revered Shiite shrine outside the Syrian capital Damascus, a monitor said.

According to reports, the bombers blew themselves up in the Sayeda Zeinab district of Damascus, where Syria’s holiest Shia shrine is located.

State news agency SANA had earlier reported 30 people killed in the three blasts, which it said were caused by a car bomb and two suicide bombers.

Meanwhile terror group Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed the responsibility of the attack.

In a statement circulated on social media, the jihadist group said two of its members had detonated suicide bombs near the Sayyida Zeinab shrine.

“Two soldiers of the caliphate carried out martyrdom operations in a den of the infidels in the Sayyida Zeinab area, killing nearly 50 and injuring around 120,” the group said.
