After launching several smartphone in different market segments, marketing tactics and hard-work of three years, Intex has finally defeated Micromax in Indian smartphone market in third quarter. With the astounding 42.5 per cent growth in the third quarter, the company is now ruling the desi mobile market, a report published by market research firm IDC said. Despite outstanding online sale in metro cities, Xiaomi and other giants are behind Samsung in the overall market. According to a report published in ET, the Indian mobile-maker Intex shipped 8,755,697 mobile units in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Micromax shipped 8,613,296 handsets. “It is truly heartening to become the No. 1 Indian mobile handset company,” Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Head- Mobile Business, Intex Technologies, told the ET. Meanwhile, Samsung led the overall market with a total of 15,982,197 mobile units. The Korean is also leading the 4G-LTE market in India.
