IIT Panel Recommends Major Changes In JEE 2017, To Set Up National Testing Service | News World India

An IIT-constituted panel has recommended major changes in format of IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The panel has called for a National Testing Service to be started to conduct JEE. It will be set up in 2016.

In an attempt to undermine the growing control of the coaching industry, the students about 4 lakh candidates shall be short-listed for taking the JEE from 2017 based on the aptitude test by National Testing Agency. The proposed test will be an online test for scientific aptitude and innovative thinking ability. The Aptitude test may be offered 2 or more times in a year.

The 2017 JEE will be on the lines of current JEE (Advanced) and will test knowledge in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The test will be conducted by IITs.
