Chandigarh Police have already made their report regarding the controversial Haryana Rajya Sabha election which held on June 11, although officials have not yet released it.

Stunned by the outcome in the elections to the Rajya Sabha from Haryana where votes of 14 Congress legislators were declared “invalid”, INLD candidate and eminent lawyer R K Anand on July 4 has written to Vice President Hamid Ansari, urging him to not let BJP-backed Independent candidate and media baron Subhash Chandra take oath as an MP.

In his letter to the Vice President, RK Anand has stated, “Chandra should not be allowed to sit in Parliament till the whole issue is decided and the case is investigated”.

Subhash Chandra was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Haryana defeating R K Anand. Chandra got 24 votes while Anand managed 15.

As many as 14 Congress votes were rejected in the 90-member assembly, leading to Anand’s defeat. He was otherwise expected to win the Rajya Sabha seat.

Anand had earlier lodged his complaint with the Election Commission, alleging someone had changed the original pen provided by the election officials with another one for a while which resulted in some votes were being declared as invalid.
