Govt Official Held For Accepting Bribe In AP | NWI

ONGC, Assam Asset Deputy General Manager (Civil) and in-charge maintenance M R Locham was today trapped by the Anti-Corruption Branch CBI Guwahati while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

On the basis of information received from a complainant, CBI ACB sleuths trapped Locham in ONGC Assam Asset located in Sivasagar, said a release from N Gogoi, Deputy Inspector General and Head of CBI Anti-Corruption Branch, Guwahati.

The complainant had filed the complaint against alleged demand of bribe for release of security deposits that was refundable after completion of work, Gogoi said.

The complaint was verified and found to be true and an FIR [RC8 (A)/2016 -Guwahati] was registered against Locham the CBI official said.

The CBI, ACB, Guwahati team has also recovered Rs five lakh from the office of the suspect.

Searches are being carried out in the official residence of Locham located at ONGC Colony, Sivasagar and at other locations, the release added.
