At least three persons were injured when a masked person set off an explosion at a Gurudwara in the German city of Essen on Saturday evening.
According to reports, while a 60-year old man suffered serious injuries and had to be hospitalized, other two including a 47-year old man and a 56-year old man sustained minor injuries.
The Police detained three people in connection with the case. However, they were later released as the investigation continued.
Meanwhile, India on Sunday expressed its concern over the incident .
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted he was “distressed to hear of an explosion in a gurudwara in the Essen city of Germany”.
“Our mission (in Germany) is following up with local authorities on ground situation,” Swarup said.
Police in Germany have said there were no indication that the explosion was a terrorist attack but said it may have been caused deliberately.
