The district authorities have decided to put in place restrictions in parts of Srinagar and south Kashmir’s Anantnag area on Friday.

According to the reports, restrictions shall be in place in seven police stations manning old city areas as ‘precautionary measures’ to thwart any separatist fueled protests.

Reports added that Senior Pro-freedom leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Shabir Shah and Mirwaiz Umar farooq has been put under house arrest, after they announced to hold sit-in at Nowhatta post Friday congregational prayers against the killing of young trucker Zahid Rasool Bhat, and the thrashing of JKLF chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Meanwhile reports of curfew are also pouring in from South Kashmir’s Anantnag district following the unrelenting protests after Zahid Rasool Bhat died last Sunday.
