DU Admissions 2015: Step By Step Procedure | NWI

Delhi University admissions start on June 25. Here are few steps you need to follow to get through admissions without any hassle.

 Cut-Off Lists and Admission

Once the cut-off list is out, you can go to any college in which you are eligible according to cut-off. However, you can only take one admission at a time.

After reaching the college, you are required to fill an admission form. Then, you are required to get the documents verified by the faculty appointed. There are help-desks in each college to sort out confusion and chaos.

Once, your documents are verified, you’ll be given a unique code according to which you need to submit the fees in the bank. By and large the procedure is same, but it may vary from college to college

Documents you are required to carry:- 

Document verification is an essential part of the DU admissions. In case, if you do not have any important document you may be denied admission or may need to sign an affidavit to submit the same within a stipulated time, whichever the college administration decides.

At the time of admission, the applicants shall be required to produce the following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies:

( i )     Class X Board Examination Certificate

(ii)      Class X Marksheet

(iii)      Class XII Marksheet

(iv)    Class XII Provisional Certificate/ Original Certificate

(v)     Character Certificate (recent)

(vi)     Two Passport size photographs signed by the student at the back.

(vii)    Students who did not appear in compulsory English are required to submit a Certificate that they have passed English as a second language in Senior Secondary, that is up to Class X.

(viii)    Migration certificate or transfer certificate is required from outstation students.

(ix)     Those who do not want to study Hindi as M.I.L. will have to submit the certificate of having passed Hindi up to class VIII from their respective schools, otherwise they have to pass a compulsory test in Hindi.

(x)      Medical fitness certificate mentioning blood group.

(xi)     SC/ST students to submit caste certificate issued in their own name. In case the student is below 18 years of age the certificate should be in her parent’s name.

Some colleges may also ask you to submit anti-ragging and anti-drug affidavit, confirm on the college site before applying.

Try to reserve a seat in any college, even if it is not of your choice. Also, the dates and time mentioned in the list are strict. Three days are given to take admission after every cut-off. The procedure is time taking as you are going to experience a huge rush and tedious document verification procedure.

Since the time allotted for the process is from 9 AM to 1 PM, it is advised to reach before time or else the document verification and fee submission may extend up till next day.

Once you are done with the fee submissions, you are done with the admission and you can join college when the class starts.

Admission In Subsequent List

If you have already taken admission in the previous list, but you want to change your course or college as you are eligible for them in the subsequent list, you need to get the admission canceled first. College is going to return your documents immediately, however, the fee will be returned later.

Once, you get the admission cancelled and documents returned, you can proceed to another college and course for the admission. Many colleges prefer photocopy of documents instead of originals. Even, in that case, you need to get the admissions cancelled first before proceeding to another admission.

Quick tips: Carry black and blue ball pens, pencil, scissor, glue, stapler, paper clips. Must carry a bottle of water. You can also carry something to eat.
