Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that 4 years back when he urged the Punjab Government to eradicate the drug menace in the state he was mocked by Akalis.
Rahul said, “4 yrs ago when I came to Punjab and urged the Govt to address drug issue, I was mocked by the Akalis.”
Rahul made the statement while addressing a rally in Jalandhar, organised in protest against the drug menace and alleged deterioration in the law and order situation in the state.
Taking a jibe at Akali Dal, Rahul said “Agar aap ko drugs ka problem hatana hai, aapko police ke haath kholne hain, ye kaam Akali dal wale nhi kar rhe hain-Rahul Gandhi in Jalandhar.”
“Amarinder ji said that if Cong comes to power, drug problem will be curbed in a month because we intend to give more powers to police,” he added.
