Islamic State terrorists slaughtered at least 20 foreigners, including an Indian woman, with sharp weapons before security forces rescued 13 hostages and gunned down six attackers on Saturday morning, ending the night-long siege at a Dhaka cafe popular with both locals as well as foreign visitors.

Meanwhile, Home Ministry on Saturday declared a high alert in states bordering Bangladesh, including West Bengal, Tripura and Assam.
According to reports, the Union Home Ministry has directed the Border Security Force (BSF) and other agencies to keep strict vigil along the international borders.
