In his first ever weather prediction, one of Delhi’s most famous yet reclusive astrologers hit the nail on the head. And beat our very own Meteorological Department.
On June 6, 2016, astrology consultant SS Anand predicted on his Facebook page that “Monsoon will hit Kerala on the 8th June 2016 morning between 9:30am to 10am.”
Lo and behold, it proved to be correct.
The Met office had issued a forecast bulletin stating the onset of the monsoon over Kerala was very likely by June 9.
And his followers were ecstatic on Facebook.
The long-awaited Southwest Monsoon finally hit the doors of Kerala on June 8. Heavy rain continued to lash several coastal areas of Kerala since past few days. In last 24 hours, Kozhikode has received 22 mm, Alappuzha 81 mm, Kottayam 58 mm, Kochi 19 mm and Thiruvananthapuram 40 mm of rain.
India Meteorological Department (IMD), India’s official weather forecaster then declared, as predicted by astrologer Anand, that the onset of the rainy season on Wednesday, saying the June-September Southwest monsoon has hit Kerala, cheering farmers and the economy after two years of deficit rains.
