The Nissan-subsidiary Datsun is all set to launch it’s most affordable car redi-GO in India on June 7.
The hatchback will be introduced at a starting price ranging from Rs 2.5 lakh to up to Rs 3.5 lakh for the top-end model.
The new car will sport the trapezoidal grille like all the Datsun cars (Go and Go+) before it and slimmer more stretched out headlamps. The new Redi-GO will also have a muscular bonnet and a very distinct side profile with a visible partition line on that swoops up just above the rear wheel and fuses into the tail lamps. The tail lamps itself are placed high and the rear hatch also gets a good muscular design.
In terms of the interior, expect the Redi-GO to be very spacious with a large boot. That said, whether Datsun will continue to take the direction of bare-basics like it has done in the past, or go the route of more popular hatchbacks and offer a bunch of gadgets in the new Redi-GO will only be revealed when the car is launched.
In terms of mechanicals, the new hatchback will come with the same 800cc engine that you get in the Kwid and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
