The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday carried out searches at the prestigious Viswa Bharati University in Santiniketan in connection with alleged irregularities committed by a former Vice-Chancellor.
The agebcy also carried out raids at the residence of the vice chancellor.
According to reports, the searches started at seven places on Tuesday morning after the agency registered a case on a reference received from the Central government in this regard.
It is alleged that UGC guidelines were not followed in the appointment process during the tenure of a former Vice-Chancellor, the sources said.
