The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Thursday asked AOL foundation to pay the fine of Rs.5 crore till Friday, however, activists have asked India’s top environmental court to stop the event because the spiritual leader and his organisation have not complied with an order to deposit fine before the event begins.

The NGT has agreed to hear the petition urgently. Also, security has been increased outside the court.
The NGT on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs five crore on AOL as environmental compensation while clearing the decks for its three-day cultural extravaganza.
Yesterday, the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said he would rather go to jail than pay the fine imposed on his organisation by NGT for environmental violations over a cultural extravaganza on the floodplains of Yamuna.
