In an effort to check online trolls, Woman and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has asked all women at the receiving end of such abuses to inform her.
Gandhi took to twitter and tweeted “Are you a woman who is trolled or abused? Inform me at [email protected] .
She said that women being harassed on Twitter can also post complaints using the hashtag #IamTrolledHelp or mail grievances directly to her.
Gandhi has also directed the National Commission for Women (NCW) to monitor such instances and take strict action.
On Friday, while interacting with the media, Gandhi said “we get a lot of complaints from women who face harassment on social media, so have constituted this cell.”
“If its reported to us that a woman is abused, harassed or stalked then we will surely take cognizance of it,”she added.
