AAP MLAs And Legal Trouble: Complete List | NWI

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is making news since the time it was formed. From criminal intimidation to molestation, AAP members have always been in trouble.

Here’s the list of AAP MLAs who have been in legal trouble:

Status: Arrested on July 24 Case: A woman filed a complaint against Amanatullah Khan alleging that at the AAP MLA’s residence a youth abused her and threatened if she did not stop politicising the matter had on July 10. The complaint was filed on July 19. FIR registered under section 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.

Woman recorded her statement before a magistrate, after which Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) was added to the FIR.

Delhi Aam Aadmi Party legislator Naresh Yadav was on Wednesday sent to judicial custody till August 1 by a Punjab court in connection with a Quran sacrilege incident last month.

Status: Arrested on July 25
Case: Booked by the Punjab Police for the alleged sacrilege of Quran in Punjab on June 24, Yadav has been charged with IPC sections 109, 153A, 295. He has been booked under IPC sections after Vijay Kumar, one of the accused, got arrested in connection with the incident. He claimed that he had done it at the behest of the AAP MLA.

Status: Arrested in first case, no arrest in second

Cases: Jarwal has two complaints on his name. The latest one was on July 6, 2016, when a woman accused him of molestation and for threatening her when she went to DJB to file a complaint, while the firt one was registered on May 22, 2014. This one was for assaulting a Delhi Jal Board engineer when he refused to listen to his instructions while supervising a drilling work in Sangam Vihar.

Status: Arrested on June 25

Cases: FIR has been filed for molesting, assaulting and threatening a woman who had gone to meet him about a water problem in her area on June 22. A day later another FIR was filed against him for slapping and manhandling a senior citizen in Govindpuri.

Status: Arrested on May 29

Case: An FIR was filed against Jagdeep Singh for criminal intimidation, causing hurt, and wrongful restraint of manager of a waste management company on May 21, 2016.

Status: Arrested on January 29

Case: Arrested on Jan 29, Yadav was arrested for rioting and assaulting a public servant at a protest in west Delhi’s Nihal Vihar.

Status: Arrested for molestation in November 2015

Cases: In 2013, molestation, misbehaviour with a woman and rioting have been registered against him.

Status: Arrested on September 29, 2015, in the domestic violence charge, after he evaded arrest for a week.

Cases: Former Delhi law minister has multiple cases against him. Attempt to murder, domestic violence, cheating registered by his wife Lipika Mitra in September, 2015. Along with this, two other cases registered against him in connection with the midnight Khirki Extension raid in 2014 and instigating supporters to misbehave with a woman.

Case: Casteist remarks against an NDMC sanitation inspector belonging to a schedule caste.

Status: Arrested on June 10, 2015

Case: former Delhi law minister has a case on his name for enrolling with Delhi Bar Council using fake LLB and BSc degree.

Status: Not arrested

Case: FIR in August 2015 was filed on complaint of a businessman who said Lamba trespassed his shop and ransacked it.

Status: Arrested on July 9, 2015

Case: For charges including land grabbing, outraging a woman’s modesty and causing hurt; Kumar has four FIRs on his name.

Status: FIRs registered in October, 2015

Case: Case registered by CBI for accepting bribe of Rs 6 lakh.

Status: FIR registered at Janakpuri police station

Case: A woman alleged that another woman was harassing her husband and herself on the behest of Rishi. She attempted suicide on July 15.
