6.8 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts North India, Epicenter In Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush Region | NWI

An earthquake with 6.8 magnitude jolted parts of north India with the tremors reportedly felt all the way in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul.

According to initial reports, the epicenter of this latest quake was in Pakistan, some 248 km north of Peshawar. This was later confirmed by USGS saying the epicentre to be in Afghanistan’s mountainous region of Hindu Kush.

Strong tremors felt at 4:01 PM in New Delhi, Kashmir & Chandigarh with no casualties reported so far.

Delhi Metro services were temporarily halted after earthquake jolts the capital.

Pakistani media said the tremors were strongly felt in Lahore and other parts of Punjab province.
