Reportedly, the incident took place when the class 5 student, Yogita Ashok Desai made about 5 trips to fill water from the nearest hand pump, which was 500 metres away from her house.
The girl, resident of Sablkhed village, was also suffering from dysentery for a few days.
The doctor said that she died of a heart attack and dehydration. Also, the government has said that 33 crore people in 2.5 lakh villages in the country are facing the shortage of water.
