Political Career: Bhagwant Mann
- In 2011, he joined active politics of Punjab with his membership of People’s Party of Punjab under the leadership of Manpreet Singh Badal.
- He unsuccessfully contested elections from Lehragaga assembly constituency in 2012 Punjab Assembly Elections.
- He left the People’s Party of Punjab in March 2014 and joined Aam Aadmi Party to contest as its candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency in the General Election 2014
- He won by 200,000 votes, setting a new record in Punjab defeating Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, a prominent leader of Shiromani Akali Dal
