PM Modi Launches Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana In Ballia | NWI

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana In Ballia on Sunday.The Rs.8,000 crore scheme aims to provide 5 crore free cooking gas connections to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families from Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia.

While greeting people at the launch, Modi called himself as India’s no.1 labourer and said “nation’s Labourer No. 1 extends his greetings to all the labourers in the country for their tremendous hard work.”

PM Modi further described Ballia as the land of revolutionaries.

PM said “Mai pehle bhi Ballia aaya hoon, Ballia ki dharti kraantikaari dharti hai: PM Modi in Uttar Pradesh.”

“This land of Ballia gave us Mangal Pandey. People from here give their lives to the nation,” he added.

According to reports, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, to be run essentially using the money saved from 1.13 crore cooking gas users voluntarily giving up their subsidies, aims to provide cooking gas connections to 5 crore women beneficiaries from BPL families over the next three years,
