Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College (LTMMC) has hired 40 bouncers to protect their doctors from the aggression of patients’ kin.
The hospital runs under Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) which already has a security wing but the hospital hired the bouncers separately.
“The hospital staff including nurses and doctors feels more safe after treating the patients,” Dr. Suleman Merchant, Dean of the LTMMC said on the new recruitment of bounders.
“According to our zero tolerance policy, we can give security to our staff.
Few days back a patient’s family member has misbehaved and abused the doctors, the hospital authority claimed.
