Their grandmother, Ila Devi, was the princess of Cooch Behar. Ila Devi’s younger sister Gayatri Devi was the Maharani of Jaipur while Riya’s maternal great-great grandfather was the serving Diwan for Maharaja of Tripura.
She is the daughter of Vijay Singhrao Madhavrao Patwardhan- the Raja of Sangli.
