Mumbai Police on Wednesday arrested Gurgaon cop Praduman Yadav, who is accused of killing gangster Sandeep Gadoli in an alleged fake encounter.

Earlier last month, the Mumbai Police had strongly opposed the relief given by the Punjab and Haryana high court to the five cops of Gurgaon accused of gunning down the gangster.

Public prosecutor of Mumbai Police, Sandip Shinde, who had appeared before the Punjab and Haryana high court on June 22 also raised the objection over jurisdiction of the court in entertaining the plea of the accused cops. Shinde also demanded recall of ‘ex-parte’ order of June 13 through which the HC had stayed arrest of the Gurgaon policemen.

Hearing the plea of Mumbai Police, the High Court had asked the cops to file replies. The case was then fixed for June 27 for further hearing.

On June 13, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed Mumbai Police not to arrest or use coercive methods against five cops of Gurgaon Police if they joined investigation in the case.
