Chhota Rajan will be not be coming to India on Wednesday. Rajan, who was arrested in Bali, was be deported to India on Tuesday night. However, volcanic ash from Mount Rinjani in Lombok has led to flight cancellations in and out of Bali airport.
Indonesian government has announced closure of Bali international airport. Bali airport will remain closed until Thursday due to volcanic eruptions, meteorological agency said on Wednesday.
Earlier, an Interpol official in Bali has said that the clearance for his deportation has come and by Tuesday night he will be out of Indonesia.
Chhota Rajan is likely to arrive in India on Wednesday, if flights are not further affected by the volcanic eruption. He will be taken to Mumbai. However, he is likely to land in Delhi first as transit stopover and then head to Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has said that Chhota Rajan will be brought to Mumbai. He is likely to be kept in Anda Cell of Arthur road prison.
Rajan claimed on Tuesday that some officials in Mumbai police work hand in hand with India’s most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim.
“Mumbai police have committed atrocities on me and I don’t trust them. There are some in the Mumbai police who are working with Dawood.

“The Delhi government should do justice to me keeping that in mind. I am not scared of Dawood and I will continue fighting against him and terrorism,” Rajan said.
Mumbai-born Rajan was once a close confidante of Dawood, the prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. They parted ways after the serial explosions that claimed nearly 260 lives as Rajan says he opposed the attack.
Rajan was arrested on the basis of a Red Corner Notice from Interpol and following a tip-off by Australian authorities to the police in Indonesia.

He is expected to be produced before a court soon where Indonesian police will submit details of the cases for which he is wanted in India. Officials believe that he could be deported to India in the next two-three days.
An Indian team, comprising officers from CBI, Mumbai and Delhi police, are in Bali with a detailed dossier on 55-year-old Rajan and his involvement in various crimes in India.
He is wanted in more than 75 heinous cases ranging from murder, extortion to smuggling and drug trafficking.
Rajan, whose original name is Rajendra Sadashiv Nikhalje, has been questioned by the Indonesian police several times in the last few days to confirm his identity and criminal acts in India.
In the absence of an extradition treaty, the Indian authorities have already provided documents to their Indonesian counterparts about his Indian identity to facilitate his deportation.
In 2000, there was an attempt on Rajan’s life when Dawood’s men tracked him down to a hotel in Bangkok but he managed a dramatic escape.
