Assault Case: Bombay HC Rejects Nilesh Rane’s Bail Plea , Asks Him To Surrender Till May 23 | NWI

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail application of former Congress MP Nilesh Rane, accused of assaulting a party worker, and asked him to surrender before police till May 23.

Rane and four others, including his personal assistant Tushar Panchal and bodyguard Manish Singh, have been accused of kidnapping and assaulting Congress activist Sandeep Sawant in Chiplun on April 24.

According to the FIR, Rane and his accomplices had allegedly kidnapped Sawant and assaulted him on way to Mumbai for not attending a rally called by Rane, to demand reservation for the Maratha community.
