Haryana On Alert As Jat Stir Begins Today | NWI

The Haryana government is not taking any chances this time ahead of Jat quota stir, which begins on Sunday.

Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Ram Niwas said that 55 companies of paramilitary force including CRPF, RAF, ITBP, BSF have been deployed at various places in the state and action will be initiated by the administration where the protest will be held without permission.

Probationary orders under Section 144 has been imposed in 8-9 districts of the state including Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Panipat, Bhiwani , Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Kaithal.

Additional arrangements have been made to prevent any kind of road or rail blockade.

Additional Secretary Niwas said that while people are being persuaded to hold protests in a peaceful manner at the locations specified by the government, Deputy Commissioners have been empowered with he power of National Security Act (NSA) to deal with any casualty.

Jat community in the state will begin a second round of protests to press their demand of additional quota in government jobs and educational institutions on Sunday.

While Gram panchayats & khap panchayats have decided to opt out of protests this time, All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) is going ahead with the agitation.

The protesters however have assured the state government that they will maintain peace during the protests and will not block roads or railways.
