An FIR has been lodged against Zee TV, its producers and some actors for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of a group. The complaint was filed in the Civil Lines police station by the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

According to the complaint by Dalsher Singh and Uday Singh, a programme telecast on Zee TV on December 27 tried to malign the image of the spiritual leader. The complaint said that an actor dressed as Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in film ‘MSG’ came on stage during the show. The actor was seen dancing with girls and enjoying liquor. The complaint said that Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is a spiritual leader who is working for the betterment of society.

According to reports, police has registered a case against the channel as well as actors Kiku Sharda, Gaurav Gera, Asgar Ali, Rajeev Thakur, Pooja Banerjee, Munna Rai, Gautam Gulati, Sana Khan and the producers of the programme.

They have been booked under IPC section 295 A (outraging religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious belief).
