The Delhi government on Wednesday decided to scrap admissions in private schools through management quota.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the decision was taken to bring more transparency in the admission process of private schools.
“25 per cent admission quota is reserved for EWS in accordance to Delhi High Court order while rest of seats are mostly wrongfully reserved by schools on their own. From now onwards, remaining 75 percent will have to made available for general public,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal further stated that schools which don’t abide the order can be de-recognised or may even be taken over by the government.
