The consortium of banks on Monday filed a response in the Supreme Court to Indian liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s affidavit seeking permission to submit info on assets in a sealed envelope on June 26.
The Banks said that Mallya’s non disclosure of overseas assets indicate lack of his bonafide.
“Disclosure of assets by Vijay Mallya and his family are very significant to recover dues,” the banks said.
The banks told the SC that non-disclosure by Mallya doesn’t enable banks to ascertain his ability to repay.
“We have nothing to do withMallya’s claim that due to Govt’s action he can’t appear personally,” the banks said.
The apex court has set the next date of hearing to April 26.
