Chhattisgarh Women Gives Birth To India's First 'five-star babies' | NWI

In a rare instance, a 25-year-old woman from Chhattisgarh gave birth to five premature quintuplets on Saturday at a district hospital in Ambikapur.

According to TOI, these babies are the most premature quintuplets born in India till now and have been named as the ‘five-star babies’ by hospital authorities.

Manita Singh went into labour prematurely at 26 weeks without knowing that she was carrying quintuplets as she never underwent an ultrasound.

Reports claim that all five babies weigh just 1.5kg each, and they are now being cared for in the hospital’s neo-natal Intensive Care Unit.

Manita and her husband Mahesh hail from Lakhanpur Block. In 2014, they had lost their first baby after three months of her birth.
