Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan’s name as brand ambassador for the ‘Incredible India’ campaign has been put on hold.

Reportedly, due to the veteran actor’s name involved in connection with the ‘Panama Papers’, Big B’s name for the appointment as brand ambassador is kept on hold.

Though there was no official confirmation, there are reports suggesting that Bachchan’s alleged links to two shipping firms registered in the tax haven had put his selection on hold. Also, no official decision had been taken yet, but the decision was supposed to be taken this month. Also, reports suggest that decision will now be only taken after actor gets clean chit.

The Panama Papers are a leaked set of 11.5 million confidential documents that provide detailed information about more than 214,000 offshore companies listed by the Panamanian corporate service provider Mossack Fonseca, including the identities of shareholders and directors of the companies.

Earlier, Bachchan had issued a statement saying that his name was “misused” and he was not aware of any of the companies mentioned in the report.
